TURKISH UNIVERSITY STUDENTS VISIT PAKISTAN EMBASSY IN ANKARA

A group of students and researchers from Turkish universities visited Pakistan Embassy in Ankara, where they engaged in an informative session with His Excellency Dr. Yousaf Junaid , the Ambassador of Pakistan to Turkiye. The event aimed to enhance understanding of students on the genesis, current state of play and future trajectory of the bonds of friendship between Pakistan and Turkiye.

 

Ambassador Dr. Yousaf Junaid elaborated on the exemplary bilateral ties between Pakistan and Turkiye,  anchored in shared history, cultural connections, and mutual economic interests. Ambassador Junaid reiterated that the friendly and brotherly ties go back to centuries and this admirable legacy is a source of pride for all of us. Ambassador further added that cast in the spiritual and emotional backdrop of bilateral ties based on love and respect, the history of modern diplomatic relations between the two countries was an extension of same historical spirit where both countries have always stood by each other during the most challenging times and underscored the importance of academic exchanges and collaborations for students and researchers as a means to deepen bilateral ties. He urged students to explore opportunities for research, internships and exchange programs in Pakistan.

 

During the briefing, Ambassador Dr. Yousaf Junaid apprised the participants about        gross and widespread ongoing human rights violations in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), emphasizing the imperative for just and peaceful resolution of Jammu and Kashmir dispute in accordance with UN Security Council resolutions and aspirations of Kashmiri people. He highlighted that durable peace in South Asia was contingent upon just and peaceful resolution of the dispute as per international legitimacy. The Ambassador expressed his appreciation for Turkiye’s  consistent  and principled support to Kashmiris in their just struggle for the right to self-determination. He encouraged the students to engage thoughtfully with the issue, as future leaders and global citizens.

 

While speaking about situation in Gaza, Ambassador Junaid condemned Israeli aggression in Gaza and stated that the perseverance of both Kashmiris and Palestinians proved that they were steadfast in their just struggle for their rights and it was impossible to brush aside oldest disputes on the agenda of UN Security Council  without  peaceful resolution. Ambassador concluded by urging students to choose careers that not only fulfilled their personal ambitions but also contributed to the greater good of society and nation.

 

The visit concluded with an interactive Q&A session where students sought clarification about Pakistan’s culture, history, and the prospects of further collaboration between the two countries.
