Meeting of Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Pakistan with the President of Turkiye on the sidelines of Extra-ordinary meeting of D8 Council of Foreign Ministers on the situation in Gaza

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar (DPM & FM) called on the Turkish President Racep Tayyip Erdogan during his visit to Turkiye to attend the Extra-ordinary meeting of D8 Council of Foreign Ministers on the Situation in Gaza on 8 June 2024.

The DPM & FM applauded the timely hosting of D8 Ministerial meeting on Gaza by Turkiye. He added that this meeting reaffirmed the common resolve, unstinted commitment, and unanimous voice in support of the Palestinian people. Both leaders emphasized the urgency of galvanizing efforts to bring an immediate hault to the Israeli aggression, holding it accountable for egregious human rights violations and war crimes, and unhindered provision of humanitarian assistance to the besieged people of Gaza.

The DPM & FM expressed satisfaction on the positive trajectory of Pakistan-Turkiye fraternal relations, which had transformed into a multifacated partnership. He emphasized the importance of transforming the close bilateral relations into mutually beneficial economic and trade ties. He thanked President Erdogan for his personal interest and leadership towards enhancing Pak-Turkiye bilateral relations. The DPM & FM reiterated invitation to President Erdogan for visiting Pakistan at the earliest convenience for the 7th High Level Strategic Cooperation Council (HLSCC).

Both the leaders reaffirmed their commitment to further deepening and diversifying the longstanding brotherly cooperation between the two countries.
