ANKARA, 21 April 2014: Pakistan-Turkey relations are of extraordinary nature and a huge reservoir of emotions and goodwill is making them further stronger. Pakistan’s Ambassador to Turkey H.E. Mr. Muhammad Haroon Shaukat said this while briefing a 17-member delegation of the participants of National Security and War Course of the National Defence University of Pakistan who are currently on a study tour of Turkey.
The Ambassador said ‘public welfare’ tops the agenda of both the leaderships of Pakistan and Turkey. He said Pakistan-Turkey relations are at all times high. He informed that efforts are being made by both Pakistan and Turkey to translate the excellent brotherly relations into good economic ties.
Mr. Haroon Shaukat said there is great potential for bilateral investments. He shared that Turkish entrepreneurs are keen to invest in Pakistan in the areas of infrastructure, energy and municipal services. Recent successful Turkish projects in these sectors have great scope to be further expanded into many more cities in Pakistan, he added.
As part of their study tour, the Pakistani delegation will visit and interact with the leading Turkish think-thanks, government departments and military institutions and shall have site visits to different defence production industries.
