ANKARA, 16 October 2014: Turkish Prime Minister Prof. Dr. Ahmet Davutoğlu in a meeting here today with a delegation of Pakistan led by Minister for Commerce Engineer Khurram Dastgir Khan said the brotherly Turkey-Pakistan relations are deep rooted in history and are time tested. He said strength of Pakistan is Turkey’s strength and vice versa.
The Turkish Prime Minister said serious efforts are required to further promote economic and commercial relations between the two countries. He stressed on the need to focus on trade, investment and connectivity. He said he will soon visit Pakistan and shall co-chair the next meeting of High Level Strategic Cooperation Council with Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.
Mr. Khurram Dastgir Khan briefed the Turkish Prime Minister about the steps taken by Pakistan to revitalize economy and particularly about the various projects that the government is initiating in the energy sector. He also requested Turkish collaboration and investment in the energy sector. Turkish Premier assured every possible Turkish support for projects to produce electricity including coal-based and hydropower plants.
