ANKARA, 3 November 2015: The President of Pakistan, Mr. Mamnoon Hussain, and Prime Minister, Mr. Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, held separate telephonic conversations with President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoğlu.
The Pakistani leadership extended felicitations over peaceful completion of the electoral process and the historic success of the Justice & Development Party (AK Party) in the Parliamentary elections of 1 November 2015. They also expressed the hope that Pakistan’s close fraternal relations with Turkey would be further strengthened in the next term and that both countries would chart a new course through broadening of economic and trade ties.
President Mamnoon Hussain and Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif have also sent separate messages of felicitations to Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoğlu.
President Mamnoon Hussain, in his message, said: “It gives me immense pleasure to extend to you my heartfelt felicitations on the remarkable success of the Justice and Development Party (AKP) in the General Elections on 1 November 2015. By giving a clear mandate to the AKP, the people of Turkey have reaffirmed their desire to continue on the path of stability and socio-economic development, which the AKP leadership has so prudently advanced during its 13 years in government. I am confident that under your sagacious leadership, the new AKP government would continue to steer the country towards greater progress and prosperity...”
Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, in his message said: “It is with profound pleasure that I extend to you my warmest and most sincere felicitations, on a historic victory for the AK Party in Turkey’s 26th general elections. This latest electoral victory in a continuous streak of wins since 2002 is without parallel in modern democratic history and reflects the abiding trust of the Turkish people in the AK Party and its leadership, based on their solid track record. We have no doubt that building on the remarkable economic development achieved over the past 13 years, Turkey would continue to march forward on the path to greater progress and prosperity and sustainable political stability in the years to come.” Referring to the long-standing fraternal ties between Pakistan and Turkey, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif said: “I look forward to working closely with Your Excellency to further fortify this strategic relationship and strengthening our partnership in support of international and regional peace, stability and development.”
