ANKARA, 5 June 2015: Pakistan’s Ambassador to Turkey H.E. Mr. Sohail Mahmood visited the Keçiören Municipality in Ankara and met with Mayor Mr. Mustafa Ak. Both sides highlighted the deep fraternal ties between Pakistan andTurkey and affirmed their resolve to work together to promote bilateral cultural collaboration.
Mayor Mustafa Ak invited Ambassador to the Ramzan Festivities that the municipality will be organizing. It was agreed that during Ramazan, a “Pakistan Pavilion” will be established for few days in Keçiören that will showcase Pakistan’s culture, tourism, and strength of Pakistan-Turkey relations.
Ambassador Sohail Mahmood thanked the Mayor for planting trees in memory of the schoolchildren and staff martyred in a brutal terrorist attack on Peshawar’s Army Public School in December 2014. These trees were planted on 7 January in the forest dedicated to AK Party’s 10th anniversary. Ambassador Sohail Mahmood appreciated the kind gesture of the Turkish people. He later on visited the memorial forest.
