Pakistan Ambassador Qazi visits Konya

Ambassador M. Syrus Sajjad Qazi visited Konya on 17 November 2020. He was accompanied by Deputy Head of Mission Mr. Arshad Jan Pathan. The Ambassador called Mayor of the Greater Municipility of Konya Uğur İbrahim Altay. Both sides discussed ways to promote fraternal ties between Pakistan and Turkey.  Konya is sister city of Multan, the city of saints.

Earlier, Ambassador Qazi visited Konya office of Industrialist Business Women & Businessmen Confederation of Turkey. He was received by SANKON President Koray Eken and other office bearers. During the meeting, Ambassador Qazi briefed the Turkish investors about immense business opportunities in Pakistan.

During his Konya visit, the Ambassador also called on Mr. Ahmet Pekyatirmaci, Mayor of Selçuklu Municipility of Konya. Both sides discussed establishing sister city relations between Selçuklu Municipality and a matching Pakistani city. Selçuklu Municipility has a large public park named after Allama Iqbal.

Ambassador Qazi also visited Tropical Butterfly Garden in Konya. Mayor Ahmet Pekyatırmacı briefed him about this unique park which is one of Europe’s largest Butterfly Garden and is globally acclaimed for its rich collection of a variety of butterflies.
